Greene County was to have played twice today in the Kuemper Catholic baseball tournament in Carroll at Merchant’s Park, but rain prompted officials to cancel the event. The Rams and St. Albert (Council Bluffs) were to have met at 11 a.m. Tournament officials originally pushed the start time back one hour because of wet field conditions, and after the teams arrived, the decision to cancel was made. Kuemper and Le Mars were the other teams to have played Sunday.

The Rams did get one game played at Merchant’s Park on Saturday when they defeated Ridge View (Holstein) 7-3 to improve to 7-12 on the season. Greene County has victories in four of its last five games.

Nevada visits Greene County tomorrow in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play at Allensworth Field if the weather allows. The JV teams are scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. start with the varsity game to follow.
