Will Whiton threw his fourth straight complete game Saturday as Perry defeated Alex Davis and the Boone Torreadors 2-1 in make up RRC action. Whiton struck out 8, while scattering 7 hits and 1 walk over 7 innings. He also provided the offense with both of Perry’s RBI’s. The junior gave Perry the early lead with a solo home run in the first inning and later delivered the game winning RBI in the 6th bringing home Ben Daniels with the clutch hit. The victory sets up a Raccoon River Conference championship game Wednesday night in Perry with the Bluejays hosting Winterset. The Huskies head into the final week with a one game lead over ADM and Perry and will play ADM Tuesday night and Perry Wednesday.
The Bluejays will host Pella tonight in a non conference game that you can hear on KDLS starting at 7:00 with Shawn Kenney on AM 1310 KDLS.
