A Community Send-Off for the State Qualifying Greene County softball team is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Monday, July 21. The Rams will be boarding a school bus at the City Diamond on East Lincolnway and traveling west to Highway 4 as they depart for Rogers Sports Complex north of Ft. Dodge and a 5 p.m. Monday Class 3A quarterfinal contest vs. Center Point-Urbana. The public is asked to line Lincolnway anywhere from the Fairgrounds west to Highway 4 and cheer for the team as the bus goes by.

Greene County is 27-7 and unranked while CP-U is 28-9 and rated sixth in 3A by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. The game can be heard on KG98 with coverage beginning at 4:30 p.m. The game will also be streamed on raccoonvalleyradio.com, and can be heard on smartphones and iphones with the appropriate free app.

The Rams are guaranteed three games at the State tourney. A Monday win would put the Rams in the 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 24 semifinal, while a quarterfinal loss would drop the team into a 9:30 a.m. Tuesday consolation game. All Greene County games at State will be broadcast on KG98.
