It’s that time of year again… Guthrie Center’s 2014 River Ruckus is just a few days away.
Event founder and promoter Grant Sheeder says about 10,000 tickets have been sold so far for the concert event, and while that isn’t quite as large of a crowd as it was a couple of years ago, Sheeder says this year’s Ruckus has him and his staff awfully excited.
“I guess this is one of the most exciting years we’ve had. We bumped it up to three nights this year due to Chris Cagle wanting to come back to town for his third year. The energy all around the fairgrounds and the campgrounds right now is pretty crazy. Should be a fun, fun weekend ahead.”
Aside from just the star acts that will be performing this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Sheeder says Ruckus attendees will also experience further excitement in the form of a surprise announcement.
“It’s kind of a secret right now but hopefully we’ll get all the details ironed out this week. It seems like we’ve got a million things going on at once right now for this show and for 2015 we’ve got a few tricks up our sleeve that we’re trying to get ironed out and announce (this weekend)… We’re going to be growing a little bit in 2015.”
This year’s Ruckus kicks off with Casey Muessigman on Thursday at 6pm. Sheeder says he’s hoping to make the big announcement at some point during the concert on Saturday.
To hear more from Sheeder as he discusses River Ruckus in full detail, tune-in to tomorrow’s Let’s Talk Guthrie County program on K107. As always, that will play during the 9am, noon and 5pm hours.
