At the Jefferson Parks and Recreation Board meeting last week, a new policy was approved for renting the new Lobster Tennis Machine.
Director Vicky Lautner says the Board decided to allow anyone 18 years or older to rent the tennis machine for $15 for the first hour and $10 for any additional hours. The person renting the machine will need to provide their driver’s license and the staff will make a photocopy of it along with signing an agreement with the Greene County Community Center. She adds that anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent sign to rent the machine.
She states that the money will go toward continuing maintenance of the machine and replacement tennis balls for it.
Lautner comments that they purchased the tennis machine for $1,394 and spent another $194 on tennis balls from the Dr. Robert Burke Memorial Fund. The leftover money, $928, will be used to purchase tennis rackets and additional tennis balls that can also be rented and used at the tennis courts at Russell Park.
