A deputy responded to an alarm activation at the Peoples Trust and Savings Bank in Scranton. The bank was found to be secure by the deputy.

A deputy was dispatched to a reported single vehicle accident on W Avenue just south of 220th Street. A 1996 Oldsmobile Aurora that was being driven by Elizabeth Ann Bane 19, of Perry , Iowa, was north bound on W Avenue when she lost control of her vehicle and entered the west ditch. Bane was transported to the Dallas County Hospital by her father after sustaining an injury to her left arm. Elizabeth Bane will be issued a citation for Failure to Maintain Control. Bane was wearing her seat belt and the air bags did deploy.

A deputy was not able to locate a male that was reported by Union Pacific Railroad engineers to be walking on the railroad tracks in Grand Junction.

A deputy investigated criminal mischief to several mail boxes in the 700 block of East Hager Street in Grand Junction.

A deputy was asked to eradicate several wild marijuana plants that were found in Churdan.

A deputy checked an unoccupied vehicle along Highway 144 at 240th Street, that had sustained a flat tire. The owner advised that the vehicle will be removed once the tire is repaired.

Two deputies, an Iowa State Trooper, the Jefferson Fire Department and personnel from the Greene County Emergency Medical Services all responded to a two vehicle accident east of Jefferson on Highway 30, at the bridge repair stoplight. A semi-tractor trailer being driven by Gabriel Joseph Pape 31, of Moorhead, Iowa,  failed to stop at the construction site and struck the rear of a 1997 S 10 Chevrolet Pickup being driven by Rosemary Trucks 74, of Jefferson. Rosemary Trucks was transported to the Greene County Medical Center for minor head injuries. A total damage estimate to the vehicles is not available at the time.

A deputy was advised of cattle on the neighbor’s property in the 600 block of S Avenue. The cattle owner was called about the calves being out of the fenced area.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
