Greene County was a 2-0 winner on Monday night over Center Point-Urbana in the Class 3A State Softball Tournament quarterfinals. CP-U completed it’s tournament on Wednesday with a sixth place finish after the sixth ranked Stormin’ Pointers lost 7-5 in the fifth place game to Mid-Prairie (Wellman). Seventh place in 3A went to Spirit Lake, 3-2, over West Burllington/Notre Dame.
In Class 1A, Glidden-Ralston finished in eighth place after the Wildcats lost twice on Wednesday. G-R dropped a 1-0 decision to Wayne (Corydon) early yesterday afternoon, then they were topped 13-0 in just four innings in the seventh place game by Marquette Catholic of Bellevue.
Greene County meets third rated Clarke (Osceola) at 7:30 p.m. in the last semifinal today at Rogers Sports Complex north of Ft. Dodge. Coverage on KG98 and on raccoonvalleyradio.com begins just after 7 p.m. The 3A title game is Friday at 2:30 p.m. with the 3A consolation contest at 1:30 p.m.
