A group of Perry residents and McCreary Community Building members are putting together a unique fundraiser in hope that they can promote fitness and help raise some funds for new equipment.
Stephanie Hansen is one of seven people over the age of 50 involved with putting together a 2015 Perry fitness calendar. She says personal trainer Marsha McCaulley asked the group to participate this spring and those who agreed had to follow a strict meal plan and exercise regularly to get “calendar ready” for the photos taken my local photographers this month.
The goal is to use the calendar to remind everyone that physical fitness is important and it doesn’t matter what age you are, you can always improve your overall fitness level. They also plan to use proceeds from sales of the calendar to purchase new equipment such as weight racks, spin bikes along with potentially buying new carpet and chairs.
Plus, the group hopes to help at least one local family by purchasing memberships for those who can’t afford it on their own.
Any businesses, organizations or individuals interested in sponsoring the calendar are encouraged to contact Marsha McCaulley at the recreation center.
A launch party is tentatively scheduled for September.
