imgres-150x150The deadline for small, non-farm businesses in Dallas, Greene and Guthrie County to apply for an Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is fast approaching.

We first told you about these loans on Raccoon Valley Radio back in January, and businesses now have until August 11th to apply.

The loans are used to offset economic losses because of reduced revenues to farmers and ranchers caused by the drought that occurred from August 27th through October 28th of last year.

Small businesses and most private, non-profit organizations of any size may qualify for Economic Injury Disaster Loans of up to $2 million to help meet financial obligations and operating expenses which could have been met had last year’s drought not occurred.

Businesses engaged primarily in farming operations are not eligible for SBA disaster assistance.
