A local business owner is organizing an event this weekend that will give back to those who serve our country, while providing an entertainment option for local residents.

Brenna Young and her father Bob decided last fall that they wanted to put together an event to help the community and they’ve been planning the inaugural Freedom Fest ever since.

The event takes place this Saturday at Park Place Catering in Adel starting at 11am with a free will lunch.  Other festivities include children’s games, a dunk tank, rock climbing wall and wrestling throughout the day, followed by the Freedom Dance starting at 7:30pm.

Young says this is just their way of getting involved and supporting those who fight for our freedom.

All proceeds from the event will go to support the Adel American Legion, the Child Youth Program and Warrior and Family Services Branch.
