The Adel Sweet Corn Festival is a tradition in itself, but it has also spawned several other traditions as the years go on.
One popular event that has kicked off the festival for the last several years is the Adel Sweet Corn Festival 5k Run.
It takes place starting at 8am Saturday, August 9th along the scenic brick streets in Adel. Participants are welcome to run or walk the route which starts at 11th and Court Street.
Registration for the event is $30 in advance, or you can bring cash or check on race day. Packet pickup takes place Friday the 9th from 6-8pm at the old middle school or starting at 7am Saturday.
Awards will be handed out for first through third place in both the men’s and women’s categories, along with awards for the top two men and women in each age group and a prize for the best corn related costume.
