An accident occurred Monday morning at Stuart Road and 150th Street involving three vehicles.
Iowa State Patrol Trooper Dana Tews was the officer on the scene. A 2002 CAT Road Grader was working on the shoulder northbound with a County truck positioned approximately ¼ mile behind the grater with a sign to warn oncoming traffic.
73 year old Max Johnston of Creston, Iowa was heading northbound in a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado and rear-ended the grater which caused 50 year old Diane Kiddy of Winterset, Iowa driving a 2005 Jeep Liberty to rear-end the Silverado. Both vehicles came to rest on the roadway.
There was no damage to the Road Grater. Both drivers were transported to their respective hospitals by Stuart Rescue.
