Two Adel-DeSoto-Minburn seniors were named to the Class 3A All-Central District teams by the Iowa Baseball Coaches Association.

Grant Goeden was selected to the first team All-Central District as a shortstop.  The senior led the team in batting average with .413, hits with 45, runs with 38, triples with eight, runs-batted-in with 28 and stolen bases with 14.  His eight triples also led the Raccoon River Conference and all other Class 3A teams.  He also led the conference in runs scored.

Fellow senior Logan Essy was tabbed for the second team All-Central District as a utility player.  A three year started behind the plate, Essy also took on some pitching responsibility this season too.  He was 4-0 for the year on the mound with 2.57 earned-run-average.  He had 16 ⅓-innings of work, totalled 22 strikeouts to eight walks and held opponents to a .153 batting-average.  Offensively, Essy had a .337 batting-average, was second on the team with hits and RBI’s.

Essy was named to the first team and Goeden was named to the second team for All-State selections last year and this year’s All-State announcement will come following the state baseball tournament.
