Perry senior point guard Maggie Lowe has verbally committed to the Wayne State Wildcat Basketball program starting in the 2015-2016 school year.
Wayne State is a Division II powerhouse that has captured the 16 team Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference title three out of the past four years. The Wildcats finished 28-5 and 19-3 conference champions this past year. Lowe explains her reasons behind choosing the school.
“How close it was to home, the head coach said I would get a lot of playing time as a Freshman and I love the girls and I love the campus.”
Lowe should fit in well with a Wayne State program that likes to get up and down the court. Maggie averaged 11 points per game and finished with 152 assists for a 19-5 Perry Jayette program. She also connected for 44 three pointers and hit 34% beyond the arc.
Lowe will have the opportunity to learn from a Big Ten point guard in Saddie Murren. The former Nebraska Cornhusker will have two years of eligibility starting this season after transferring from Lincoln.
“Saddie is a really good point guard I’ll learn a lot from her and I’m excited to play with her too” says Lowe.
We will have more with Maggie Lowe tomorrow in our daily sports.
