The Greene County Chamber saw better numbers this year during its annual golf outing than they did last year.
Assistant Brandon Gustoff says there were 17 businesses who were hole sponsors and 20 different businesses donated 40 different items to be raffled off and given away during the Friday, August 1st event at the Jefferson Community Golf Course.
Of the 16 four-person teams and the 63 people who competed, Keith and Adam Pederson, Chris Nelson and Mike Mumma representing Mumma and Pederson Law Firm won the 18-hole, best-shot golf tournament with a 57 on the 72-par course. Second place went to Wilcox, Polking, Gerken, Schwarzkopf PC Attorneys with a 60 and Home State Bank’s first time with a score of 64. Other awards that were given were longest putt for both men and women which Joel Williams won for the men and Tammy Smith won for the women and longest drive which Jamie Daubendiek won for the men and Farmer’s Mutual won for the women.
Unfortunately, no one won the hole-in-one prize of a new camper from Finch’s Greene County Motor Company and Roger Custer won the big raffle prize of a new i-Pad.
Gustoff is very appreciative of the all the sponsorships and those who competed in the golf tournament and adds that without the sponsors, there would be no golf outing for the Chamber.
