The Perry Jayette volleyball team begins their final tune-ups today in anticipation of Thursday night’s opener with Fort Dodge St Edmond. Head Coach Kristel Kauztky feels her front row will be the key for Perry to compete for a Raccoon River Conference championship.
“I really like the look of our front line. Claire Marburger and Amy Marckres will be our outside hitters and Maggie Lowe will be the primary setter. Those three bring energy and leadership each and every night and it seems like they are always ready to roll. Maggie received a lot of positive feedback from conference coaches this past Saturday at the Bondurant scrimmage. I’m excited to see what these girls can do.”
Marburger was second on the team last year with 103 kills while Marckres finished with 83. Ellie Nielsen is back as well and the youngster led the Jayettes with 104 kills a season ago.
