Greene County ISU Extension encourages anyone who wants more information about balancing their lives with caring for a loved one is invited to participate in a series of sessions.
Extension Family Coordinator Sue Richardson says the “Powerful Tools for Caregivers” is designed to help give those who are caring for loved ones skills and techniques to reduce stress, improve self confidence, communicate your feelings and locate helpful resources.
She talks about what the caregivers learned from the last time the Extension office offered this type of program.
“The caregivers went away with a lot of valuable tools that were going to help them deal with their loved one and make their life easier and balance their life for them.”
The six-week course will be on Thursdays starting September 18th from 5-7:30pm at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson. Richardson points out that all the topics are discussed as a group and she talks about the benefits of doing that.
“That is also of benefit because the people can discuss the issues that they may run into and come up with solutions for those in a group setting.”
There is a $25 fee to join and pre-registration are encouraged by Friday, September 12th to the Extension office in Jefferson. Call them for more information at 386-2138.
