The only home cross-country meet of the season for the Greene County Rams is today on the high school grounds in Jefferson. Middle school races start at 4:30 p.m. with high school races set to start at 5 p.m. There will be two classes of competition on the varsity level, although all high school girls will run together, as will all high school boys. Class A and Class B runners will be separated at the finish line for team scoring and individual medals.
The Rams are scheduled to host Perry, Paton-Churdan, Panorama, Guthrie Center, Coon Rapids-Bayard, Ogden, Collins-Maxwell-Baxter, South Hamilton, Roland-Story, Colo-Nesco, Kuemper Catholic, Nevada, Southeast Valley, Denison-Schleswig, IKM-Manning, Exira/Elk Horn-Kimballton, Audubon, Ar-We-Va, Creston, and Winterset.
The Rams are coming off high finishes last Thursday at the West Central Valley meet south of Menlo. The Greene County girls, ranked seventh in Class 3A, won the team title, while the Greene County boys were third.
