A reminder that tonight will be the next marketing plan meeting for Greene County.
Economic Development Director Ken Paxton says they’ve been meeting since June about putting together a marketing plan to attract more people to visit the County following the announcement of a casino gaming license granted by the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission earlier in June.
In the first three meetings, Paxton points out that they’ve compiled their target demographic which are people ages 50-65 who like to travel and learn about historical information. Their previous meeting in August, they established their focal selling point of the Mahanay Bell Tower.
Paxton states that tonight’s meeting will cover the different communication channels for how to deliver that message to everyone.
He talks about some of the plans to unveil their marketing plan before their target date of 2015.
“We talked about getting this plan out for 2015 but we are really already ahead of that. We will be going to a trade show (on) November 3rd for tour groups that’s held here in Iowa. We’ll be jointly presenting at that trade show with Wild Rose Casino, we’ll be sharing a booth. So we’re already getting the message out and we have a lot of different channels that we’re going to go through.”
Tonight’s meeting is open to the public in the lower-level of the Sierra Community Theatre in Jefferson at 7pm.
