A heads up to Perry area residents… the Perry Police Department will be without power for a few hours this morning.
Communications Supervisor Lori Riley says this should not cause any issues for citizens who need emergency assistance. It is a planned outage, necessary as crews work on the heating, ventilation and air conditioning improvement project in the building.
All 911 calls between approximately 8:45am and 11:15am will be answered by the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office. Administrative calls will continue to be answered by a Perry dispatcher who is temporarily located off site.
Because of this planned outage, Riley says if you can wait until after 11:15 to call the police department, please do so.
We will bring you updates and let you know once the power has been restored.
