Aside from a blowout loss to Ballard in Week 2, the ADM football team has been locked in a couple of tight contests through the first three weeks of the season. In Week 1, they eked out a gritty 15-9 win over Perry. Last Friday at Dallas Center-Grimes, the Tigers fell just short in a 7-6 loss.

One possible reason ADM has been in such close games is the fact that ADM has struggled to get off to good starts. The Tigers (1-2, 0-1 District) have yet to score in a first quarter this season and have just seven first-half points. Against Perry, they were able to rally for with 15 second-half points, but that game represents the only time the Tigers have held a lead this season.

ADM will look to get off to a better start this Friday when they travel to Atlantic to take on the 2-1 Trojans. After opening the season with a blowout loss to Clarinda, Atlantic has won its last two contests. In Week 2, the Trojans beat Denison-Schleswig at home, 25-20. Last Friday, they clipped Glenwood with a 7-6 victory on the road.

Our coverage of this Friday’s game between the Tigers and Trojans begins at 6:45 p.m., with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. on KKRF 107.9 FM and raccoonvalleyradio.com
