Friday, September 19th

A deputy was dispatched to the 600 block of West Main Street in Grand Junction to help resolve a verbal domestic altercation.

A deputy checked an unoccupied vehicle that experienced mechanical problems at 240th  Street and U Avenue. A 24 hour removal tag was placed on the vehicle.

A deputy was not able to locate a reported careless and erratic driver on Highway 30 near Scranton.

A deputy was advised by a resident in the 800 block of East Main Street in Grand Junction of the difficulty that she was experiencing with her son.

A deputy and the Churdan Fire Department were dispatched to the 1300 block of 130th  Street for a reported car fire. After an investigation by the deputy, he subsequently arrested Joshua Harold Gingery 30, of Slater, Iowa, for Operating While Intoxicated-1st  Offense and Failure to Maintain Control. The Gingery vehicle was estimated to be a total loss.

Saturday, September 20th

A deputy responded to an alarm activation at the Peoples Trust and Savings Bank in Grand Junction. The bank was determined to be secure.

A deputy was dispatched to the Casey’s General Store in Grand Junction for the report of an unattended 3 or 4 year old child in the store with no parent or guardian present. The deputy determined the residence of the child and will be contacting the Department of Human Services about the situation.

A deputy was advised of two dogs running at large in the 300 block of South 9th Street in Grand Junction. The dogs were not located at that time but the owner was determined and will be spoken with about the dogs running at large.

A deputy was unable to locate a reported hitchhiker on Highway 30 near Orchard Avenue.

A deputy initiated a traffic stop on Highway 30 near Pioneer Avenue to check the identity of the driver after receiving a report of careless driving. The driver was spoken with regarding her driving skills.

Sunday, September 21st

A deputy was asked to help locate a resident in the 500 block of N Avenue. The resident was found to be safe.

A deputy was not able to locate a vehicle reported to be parked on the roadway on  170th Street just east of N Avenue.

A deputy was dispatched to the 1600 block of 160th Street to investigate the theft of a skid loader, a 4-wheel ATV and a small grass seeder.

A deputy was dispatched to the 800 block of 140th Street for the report of an attempted burglary to a farm building. Nothing appears to have been taken at the location.

A deputy checked the report of a dog running at large in Dana. The owner of the dog was advised of the leash law and the fine for dogs running at large.

A deputy was dispatched to a single vehicle accident at the Sparky’s One Stop in Rippey. A 2012 Dodge Ram Pickup that is owned by David Merle Coon 65, of 1988 270th Street was attempting to park near the store when the pickup struck the building. Damage to the Coon vehicle was estimated to be $1500 and a damage estimate was not determined on the building. The accident remains under investigation at this time.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
