The Jefferson City Council met last night in regular session.
The Council approved the contracts and bonds for JMK Construction to proceed on the three water and sewer projects at the Wild Rose Jefferson facility, another project on Mulberry Street and improving the water and sewer services at a Greene County facility on Wall Street.
The Council also approved to submit its 2013-14 street financial report that is required by the state to submit every year. City Clerk Diane Kennedy said that the street department started the year with $232,776 and added another $433,865 of Road Use Tax funds for a total of $666,641 available funds to use. The street department had an ending fund balance of $194,720 with $471,921 of expenses.
The Council passed a 3-2 vote in favor of the financial incentives for Cobblestone Hotel. The Council already approved the $800,000 Tax Increment Financing but they also approved an additional carrying cost that could be another $300,000 depending on the value of the land when the facility is built.
The Council ended the meeting in its annual priority budget workshop. The Council decided that they wanted to keep economic development, housing and the golf course as top priorities with the addition of strategic planning for casino revenue also at the top of their list for consideration for the 2015-16 fiscal year.
