Jefferson residents are reminded that all reality, political, roof or siding repair signs need to be placed on private property and not on the public right-of-way.
Jefferson Code Enforcement Officer Tom Heater says City Hall has been getting some complaints of property owners using the public right-of-way to post signs. The right-of-way is the property that is in front of sidewalks and lot lines.
Heater suggests that if you do have signs posted in the right-of-way, you must remove them or the City can remove them without giving the property owner any notice.
Anyone with questions can call City Hall at 386-3111.
