Friday, October 10th
A deputy checked an unoccupied vehicle along the roadway on 230th Street near S Avenue. Dispatchers were notified for future reference.
A deputy was dispatched to a car-deer accident that occurred on Neola Avenue or (Highway 4) and 340th Street, just into Greene County. A 2010 Buick Enclave driven by Jodi Lyn Frederick 40, of Rural Bagley was southbound on Neola Avenue when a deer ran from the ditch and was struck by the Frederick vehicle. Jodi Frederick was not injured but her Buick sustained an estimated $5500 in damages.
A deputy was asked to check the welfare of an elderly female in the 200 block of 6th Street South in Grand Junction. The female was found to be safe and well.
A deputy was advised of and is investigating a reported assault that occurred on the Coon Rapids- Bayard school bus involving a 13 year old male and other youth.
A deputy spoke with a married couple in the 900 block of Hills Avenue in Churdan about a property dispute that is civil in nature.
A deputy was advised of a suspicious vehicle in the 100 block of East Hager Street in Grand Junction. The vehicle was not located upon the deputy’s arrival.
Saturday, October 11th
A deputy was dispatched to a single vehicle accident that occurred in the 1600 block on E Avenue. A 2000 Ford F250 pickup that was being driven by Robert Benjamin Bills 30,of rural Scranton was hauling round hay bales on a bale trailer when Bills stated that the front tire of his vehicle blew and the pickup went into the ditch striking a power pole. Several lines owned by both ITC and Alliant Energy were damaged as well as the pole. The Bills truck was reported to be a total loss. The bale trailer owned by Kelly Rice sustained major damage. Damage was estimated to be $10,000 to the power lines and pole.
A deputy was advised of a harassment complaint in the 100 block of Lovejoy Street in Rippey. Both parties were spoken to and advised if the harassment continues charges will be filed.
A deputy was out of position and unable to locate a reported careless and erratic driver near Grand Junction.
A deputy was advised of the reported theft of a Yellow Havoc go-cart and tools from a residence in the 700 block of Sand Street in Churdan. The theft is under investigation at this time.
The animal control officer was dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of Jefferson Street in Scranton to speak with the owner of four dogs that are continually barking.
Sunday, October 12th
A deputy assisted personnel from the Greene County Emergency Medical Services with a transport of a female in the 1400 block of 265th Street.
A deputy was not able to locate a reported reckless driver northbound on N Avenue from the Highway 4 and 30 intersection.
A deputy was dispatched to R Avenue and 195th Street for a reported bean table on a trailer that had come unhooked from a pickup and entered the ditch. Dennis Ostrander of rural Jefferson was transporting the bean head when the hitch pin dislodged causing the trailer with bean head to enter the ditch and overturn. The extent of the damage is not known at this time.
A deputy provided traffic control for an occupied vehicle that was experiencing mechanical difficulties at D Avenue and 330th Street. The vehicle was moved off the roadway and will be removed on Monday.
A deputy was dispatched to Orchard Avenue just south of 170th Street for a grain truck that had entered the ditch. A grain truck owned by David Ausberger of Jefferson and being driven by Randy Lee Ray 55, of Bouton, Iowa, was southbound on Orchard Avenue and entered the ditch. The truck was hauling soybeans that will be transferred to another truck on Monday. Randy Ray was issued a citation for Failure to Maintain Control. No damage estimate was determined at this time.
A deputy was on another call and unable to locate a reported suspicious vehicle southbound on N Avenue near Jefferson.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
