The public is invited to the next marketing plan meeting for Greene County tomorrow.

Economic Development Director Ken Paxton says a group of 30-40 participants have been meeting since June to discuss how to better advertise the different assets that the county has to draw more tourism to the area.

Each monthly meeting, the group has tackled specific items to develop an entire marketing plan such as establishing a core demographic audience of people ages 50-65 who like to learn about historical locations and focusing on one impactful item to advertise which is the Mahanay Bell Tower.

Paxton talks about one of the main topics that he would like the public’s input on at tomorrow night’s meeting.

“Mentioned before our focal point and our main selling point is going to be the Bell Tower and its relationship to the historical assets we have in our community.  That’s our kind of out our main selling theme and now we need to develop a logo and slogan around that.”

Also at that meeting, two different proposals for ad agencies will be considered to help market the county to larger masses of people and the group will further discuss communication channels to use to present their materials.

The meeting will be at 7pm in the lower-level of the Sierra Community Theatre in Jefferson.
