The “Investing in Tomorrow’s Care” capital campaign for the Greene County Medical Center’s building expansion project has almost reached its goal.

Foundation Director Hollie Roberts says they are at $3 million of their $4 million goal.  The campaign started with an initial $2 million gift by an anonymous donor in February.  Other support for the campaign has come from medical center staff and the Board of Trustees, area business such as Jefferson Telecom, Home State Bank, West Central Cooperative, Midland Power Cooperative and other community members.

The building expansion will add another 51,000-square feet to the east of the medical center at a cost of $22.5 million.

Roberts is grateful for the support and encourages even more from the community.  Gifts to the “Investing in Tomorrow’s Care” capital campaign can be made by cash, bequests, real estate or gain donations and other forms.  Anyone wanting to make a pledge can do so for up to five years.
