Greene County High School cross-country runners complete their regular seasons today in Des Moines at the Saydel Invitational. Starting time is 4:30 p.m. Kelly Simpson is the coach of both the girls and boys’ squads. The Rams are ranked ninth in Class 2A for girls by the Iowa Track Coaches Association and they are coming off a third place finish at the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference meet held in rain and wind on Monday on the Iowa State University Course in Ames. Sophomore Olivia Hansen led Greene County with a thirteenth place finish and she earned all-conference honors.

The Greene County boys were seventh at the HOIAC meet and senior Logan Egeland had one of the better finishes of his career against extremely difficult competition by finishing in seventeenth place.

After the meet at Saydel, it will be a week of preparation for the Class 2A Coed Regional meet at the Lake Panorama Par 3 Golf Course near Panora on Thursday, Oct. 23.
