All that remains for the Greene County High School cross-country teams is the postseason after Coach Kelly Simpson’s teams finished the regular season at the Saydel Invitational in Des Moines on Thursday. North Polk (Alleman) edged the Rams 41-48 in the girls’ team race with Colfax-Mingo at 71, PCM (Monroe) 72, and Saydel 126. The Comets are ranked fifth in Class 3A and the Rams are ninth. Saydel won the boys’ team title with 23 points, followed by NP 35, Greene County 78, C-M 120, and PCM 127.

Olivia Hansen led the Rams in the girls’ race by finishing in fourth place. Emily Christensen was ninth, Eme Johnson 10th, Emily Finch 11th, and Noelle Gray 14th.

Landson Braun was ninth to lead the Rams in the boys’ race. Logan Egeland was 11th, Anthony Cunningham 18th, Ethan Woodruff 20th, and Abe Yoder 22nd.

Greene County runs in a Class 2A Regional on Thursday, Oct. 23 west of Panora on the Lake Panorama Par Three Golf Course.
