Two Adel residents needed to be transported to the hospital after their vehicle was hit while attempting a left turn. The Iowa State Patrol’s report indicates that the 2001 Chevy Cavalier being driven by Beverly J Havlik of Adel was struck while attempting to make a left hand  turn off of southbound R Ave near 300th st, by a 2003 Chrysler Town & County driven by Jennifer R Long of Van Meter, who was attempting to pass Havlik in the Northbound lane as she turned. Beverly Havlik was transported to hospital by ambulance, and her passenger, Walter Havlik was transported to the hospital by helicopter. Long was uninjured in the crash.
