A deputy and the Paton Fire Department responded to a corn stalk bale fire in a farm field near 120th Street and V Avenue. The stack of large corn stalk bales was destined for the cellulose ethanol plant near Nevada, Iowa. The fire is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy assisted a Jefferson Police Officer with impounding a car after the officer arrested the vehicle driver for OWI.
The Chief Deputy Sheriff and his K-9 Leo, assisted the Boone County Sheriff’s Office with a search of the Madrid High School.
A deputy was dispatched to residential alarm activation in the 900 block of W Avenue. The home was found to be secure.
A deputy assisted in locating a distraught juvenile female in Grand Junction.
A deputy investigated damage to a fence along 230th Street near H Avenue.
A deputy checked an occupied vehicle that sustained a flat tire on Highway 30 between I and J Avenue. The driver advised the deputy that she had help on the way to change the tire.
A deputy was advised by an ER nurse from the Dallas County Hospital, of a dog that had bitten its owner on the face at a rural residence in the 1400 block of U Avenue. The owner had the dog put down.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
