When you support local businesses, you keep sales tax dollars local and help your neighbors stay employed. There’s an annual day coming up this weekend that promotes and celebrates those ideals, and it’s called Small Business Saturday. Tracy Mahlstadt is a member of the Stuart Chamber, in addition to being a small business owner herself, her and her husband own Panora’s Dale Valley Vineyard, and talks about what Small Business Saturday is all about, “Businessesthat people may have forgotten about, that are available for gift-gifting season. Some examples, the local vet clinic, the local gas station that has deals on tires. A lot of local people who may not be open year-round, may be open for that day, lots of activities going on, so we’re encouraging people to stay local.”
Small Business Saturday Focuses on Local Business
Virtually every town in the Raccoon River Valley is participating in Small Business Saturday, you can contact your local chamber of commerce for more information.
