After a successful “Renewed Dreams” campaign, the Tower View Team of Jefferson Matters: Main Street is starting up a new project this winter.
Chair Deb McGinn says they are doing a “6-Word Art Project”. Everyone is encouraged to describe themselves in only six-words. She states that it doesn’t have to be a sentence, it can be a list of words and you can talk about whatever you want that describes who you are.
Paper for the 6-Word Art Project is available at Homestead Coffee and Bakery and at the Jefferson Public Library along with drop boxes to enter your message. McGinn requests one piece of information from each participant.
“We would just like for you to write your age down because we found out that people want to tell us their story, but they don’t want to tell us their name. And so that’s fine, but we would really appreciate having their age put on down.”
She points out that people write a lot of interesting and unique things about themselves and by having ages included, it shows the wide range of participation and you can see the vast array of people’s descriptions.
McGinn encourages everyone to help them with this project, because it’s a community effort just like their “Dreams” summer project was.
“It’s a collaborative effort to get this done. If people don’t fill the boxes up there won’t be any 6-word project. We need you to tell us about you.”
By mid-January, all of the responses will be on display inside the library through the end of February.
