The Perry boys basketball team is coming  off a pair of high-scoring victories. The Jays put up eighty six on Greene County Saturday afternoon and then lit up Norwalk for ninety one points on Tuesday night, The Jays are doing this despite not having a lot of three pointers early in  the year, Perry Head Coach Ned Menke says it all starts on the defense end.
“The reason were getting those numbers is because of all the live turnovers were creating and steals right to the rim at the other end.  Right now I’d I think if you look at all the teams in the state we’re sitting at forth in the state with steals with seventy eight steals in five games, which is very high number.  We’re limiting our opponents possessions and shot attempts because all those steals and that’s how we have been able to survive with the lower field-goal percentages because of all of the attempts were getting.   We have taken seventy five more attempts than any other team in the conference right now.”
The Bluejays connected on 14 3-pointers in Tuesday night’s win.  The Jays will travel to Carroll Friday night.
