The Greene County High School girls basketball team recently visited residents at Greene County Medical Center’s long-term care.
Head Coach Chad Morton says his players gave each resident a fleece blanket, diet soda, six-pack of crackers and a Christmas tree ornament that says Rams Basketball 2014-15 on it.
He states that doing this annual event is an important for his players to give back to the community.
“I think it’s important that the girls understand that the people that do support our school and our program and it’s all about giving back. Plus, the time of the year, it’s Christmas and its just good for the girls to get out talk to those residents as well.”
Morton adds that he was impressed with how his players took time to talk with the residents and make those strong connections with the older generation during the holiday season.
