With shotgun season having just ended and just over a couple of weeks remaining for the rest of the deer hunting seasons, the DNR’s latest numbers show that Guthrie County continues to have nearly twice as many deer harvested this season as the County average state-wide. So far, over 1600 deer have been taken in the county, which is approximately 2.5 deer killed for every square mile of land, a very good ratio already considering that deer killed per square mile in the State is .68, and there are still two more weeks of hunting to go.
