A change to State policy now allows Guthrie Center to have their Wellmark Insurance policy serviced by a local insurance representative, rather than having to call a representative in Des Moines. At Monday night’s City Council meeting, the council voted unanimously to switch the policy to local insurance agent, Rod Rumelhart, something the council says allows for more convenience for them in having a local contact, and keeps the commission Rumelhart gets for this new policy in the local economy.
