It’s been difficult to get a read on the ADM girls basketball team through the first third of the season. The Tigers have been inconsistent to this point of the season, producing a 3-3 overall record and 1-2 mark against Raccoon River conference foes.
By the end of the month of January, we should know exactly what kind of team first-year head coach Corey Schneider has.
ADM continues to prep for its Saturday non-conference home contest against Dallas Center Grimes while on winter break, which can be thought of as a “calm before the storm.” The Tigers knew heading into the season it would be tough sledding against a loaded conference, but add a pair of ranked non-conference teams to the mix, and ADM will in January play five teams ranked in the top 15 of the IGHSAU’s most recent release.
In the conference, ADM hosts No. 7 Perry on January 6, heads to No. 6 Carlisle exactly one week later, and on January 30 takes on No. 4 Ballard, which blew out the Tigers in Huxley earlier this season.
There are no breaks against non-conference foes, as ADM has road tilts against the No. 1-ranked Harlan Cyclones on January 10 and No. 15 Pella on January 20.
