One of our first major snow storms this winter came through the state yesterday leaving behind several inches of snowfall.
According to the National Weather Service, Perry received six-inches of snow while Jefferson had about four-inches and Guthrie Center had three-inches of snow. Those numbers translate into .36-inches of precipitation for Perry, .22-inches for Jefferson and Guthrie Center.
All three of our weather-reporting areas in the Raccoon River Valley will be under a wind chill warning starting tonight through Wednesday morning. The National Weather Service says winds could gust up to 40 miles-per-hour with temperatures reaching to double digits below zero. Possible blowing snow could also be a factor while the wind chill warning is in effect.
