A team of Dallas County 4-Hers will compete in a statewide Lego competition later this month.
The Dallas County 4-H Shuler Master Builders are one of 70 teams that has qualified for FIRST Lego League competition at Iowa State University on January 17th.
In preparation for the event, the team of seven middle school aged students met several times a week to collaborate on their project, working with programming specialists, librarians, scout leaders and teachers. The regional level required the team to demonstrate the FLL core values such as working as a team, sharing discoveries and showing respect for one another while having fun.
During the state contest, the team will be judged again on those core values, along with robot design using the Lego Mindstorms technology, project presentation and tasks within a robot field challenge.
