The Greene County high school basketball teams are on the road this week, but starting next week, fans will have the opportunity to see the varsity, JV, and freshman teams on Mega Nights. Activities Director Dean Lansman encourages fans to attend these multi-game nights with both the middle school gym and Greene County Community Center being used to host up to six games in all on the same night. The Rams host PCM (Monroe) on Jan. 13, Colfax-Mingo on Jan. 16, and CMB (Maxwell) on Jan. 20. The varsity games will be played in the middle school gym, as will either a JV or ninth grade game. The Mega Nights begin at 4:30 p.m.

“These are great opportunities to watch up to six games of basketball. We certainly appreciate the Greene County Community Center for helping us host these games. Not all of our opponents have enough ninth grade girls to have a separate freshman team, so in some cases, it’s five games. The Heart of Iowa Conference is known for having some great basketball teams, so Mega Nights are a great opportunity to see some really good varsity basketball, as well as some of the younger and less experienced players on the ninth grade and JV levels. We encourage fans to come out and support the Rams.”
