Perry Coach Ned Menke knows his Bluejays will be tested tonight by Winterset.

The Perry boys basketball team might be one of the hottest teams in the state right now.  Perry won their 6th straight game Tuesday night at ADM  and will return to the Pavilion for the first time in 2015 when they host Winteset in a 7:30 tip on KDLS.  “Winterset is a tricky team,” added Head Coach Ned Menke.  “They don’t have a lot of body of work like we do with just the five games and they have a new head coach in place.  Josh Henry has taken over the program and it looks like the kids are playing well for him.  They have predominantly been a man to man defense so we will look to counter that with our aggressive ball handling and attack like we have all season.  They will play hard so we have to be ready for that.”

Henry was a star player for Winterset and is one of the school’s all time leading scorers.  He should appreciate the Perry team who for the most part hasn’t had any problems scoring this year.  The Jays are currently 4th in 3A in scoring and lead the state in all four classes in 3 point shots attempted.  The Jays connected on only 2-16 Tuesday against ADM and Menke is confident the shooting will come back tonight.

Perry is 8-1 on the season and 4-0 in RRC action.  The Jays will travel to Roland Story tomorrow for a non conference game with Norseman.
