Today is being recognized as national Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, started by Concerns of Police Survivors Inc. and partnering organizations.
In light of the recent negativity directed toward law enforcement nationally, the group felt the need to show officers that their citizens recognize the difficult and sometimes impossible career they have chosen, in public service.
Perry Mayor Jay Pattee thanks Chief Eric Vaughn and all of those who serve on our police and dispatch. He says “their jobs are not easy. They deal fairly with our citizens and intervene to keep negative situations from escalating”. Pattee says because of their work citizens can feel safe driving on our roads and walking in our neighborhoods. He thanks them for making Perry a great place.
Everyone who sees a law enforcement officer today is encouraged to thank them for their service.
