The gas tax is expected to be one of the most contentious topics in this year’s legislative session, and local state representative Clel Baudler believes there are two sides to the argument,but doesn’t believe the two sides are Democrat vs Republic, as is oftentimes the case, “It’s really not a Republican, Democrat issue, it’s urban vs. rural. Even the Governor has started participating now, is the words I would use.”
Gas tax proposals have already begun with Governor Branstad calling for an investment in Iowa’s roads and bridges during his Condition of the State speech earlier this week.
