Students from Greene County High School who want to participate in high school swimming drive to and from Boone to do so, sometimes twice a day. The Toreadors were ranked 19th among 48 boys’ high school programs in the state, thanks at least in part to Greene County High School sophomore Nick Schroeder. Prior to meeting number four Ames last night, the lanky tenth grader from Jefferson stood at number 20 among the state’s 50 yard freestyle swimmers and he was thirty-sixth in the 100 freestyle. Schroeder also swims on the 18th rated 400 freestyle relay and the 20th ranked medley relay.
