The Perry Community Christmas Dinner committee pulled off another successful event last month as they fed hundreds of people.
Organizer Deb Miller says they were able to spread the wealth in several different ways this year.
“Our numbers were about 300 on site that we fed, plus take out. And then we also could feed the police station, ambulance personnel and two nursing home’s employees. Then we also donated $1,000 to the food pantry” says Miller.
Miller says though they want to help as many people as possible, it’s the way the event is embraced by the community that she says really shows how successful it is.
Plans for the 2015 Community Christmas Dinner in Perry begin in September and anyone is welcome to join the committee.
We’ll have more with Miller on tomorrow’s Let’s Talk Dallas County on KDLS.
