Friday, January 16th

A deputy was asked to check the Casey’s General Store in Scranton for a wallet that was possibly lost by a Guthrie County resident. The wallet was never located.

A deputy assisted the owner of a car trailer in removing it from along the roadway on Highway 144 North of Rippey after it experienced wheel bearing problems.

A deputy was dispatched to the Scranton Community building to investigate the report of inappropriate touching of a juvenile female by a juvenile male after getting off the school bus.

A deputy checked a vehicle that had experienced a flat tire on I Avenue and 210th Street. The owner stated that the vehicle would be fixed and removed at a later time.

A deputy advised dispatchers at the Greene County Law Enforcement Center that the trailer on Highway 144 had been removed by the owner.

A deputy was dispatched to the 600 block of Lincoln Street in Scranton to help resolve a civil personal property issue.

A deputy assisted an Iowa State Patrol Officer with transporting a suspended male driver to the Law Enforcement Center after an arrest by the Trooper.

A deputy assisted an Iowa State Patrol Officer with a traffic stop at the Sparkey’s One Stop in Rippey.

Saturday, January 17th

A deputy was advised of an erratic and careless driver in the 700 block of Eagle Street in Scranton. The vehicle was located by the deputy.

A deputy was dispatched to the 700 block of Walnut Street in Scranton to investigate the report of a 4 wheel ATV and a dirt bike being ridden on public property. The owner was located and advised that citations will be issued if it occurs again.

A deputy assisted the Fort Dodge Police Department with a burglary and theft investigation concerning a Greene County resident.

A deputy and fire units from Scranton, Churdan and Ralston were dispatched to the report of a semi-tractor trailer that was on fire on D Avenue and 170th Street. A 2007 Peterbilt semi-tractor that is owned by KC Logistics LLC of Menlo, Iowa, and being driven by Keith Lyle Partlow 36, of Menlo was south bound on D Avenue when he reported smoke filling the cab of his semi-tractor. The origin of the fire is unknown at this time but the semi-tractor was reported to be a total loss. The estimated loss to the tractor is $35,000 and Keith Partlow was not injured.

Sunday, January 18th

A deputy was dispatched to a car-deer accident on 237th Street and Jordan Avenue. A car being driven by Amelia Marie Kennedy 30, of Jefferson was eastbound on 237th Street when a deer ran onto the roadway and was struck by the Kennedy  vehicle. Amelia Kennedy was not injured but her car did sustain an estimated $2000 in Damages.

A deputy was advised of an abandoned E-911 call that mapped to a residence in the 800 block of East Hager Street in Grand Junction. A 35 year old male had fallen down a flight of stairs and was transported by private vehicle to the Greene County Medical Center for a medical evaluation. He was reported to have not been seriously injured.

A deputy assisted a Jefferson Police Officer with a domestic call in the 400 block of Harding Road in Jefferson.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
