After a minor hiccup of dropping two straight games earlier this season, the Panorama girls varsity basketball team has quietly assembled a 4-game winning streak after beating a talented Nodaway Valley team who had only lost twice themselves going in to Saturday night’s contest. Many would say the 12-2 Panorama Panthers are getting snubbed in the BC Moore power rankings, at 23rd in Class 2-A, they are by far the lowest ranked 12 win team, and are ranked lower than a Council Bluff’s St. Albert team who has lost six games, an Emmetsburg team with a 4-4 record, and most notably #7 Des Moines Christian, who Panorama has beaten twice this season. Head Panorama girls coach Dan Druivenga says he likes his team to keep the pedal to the floor, an intensity which can keep dominant first halves from his team from becoming close games in the second half, “We’ve been trying to stress dominating from the tip off. We’re not quite getting all the through the game. We talk up in the locker room, they were up by twenty, and then they relax a little bit. That’s where I try to get them over the hump, go for the throat, put them away as much as you can.”

The Panorama girls play again on Tuesday night when they travel to an Earlham team who has lost 4 of their last 5.
