There’s been discussion of the possibility of a federal mandate of police and sheriff’s departments having to wear body cameras. Iowa’s Third District Congressman David Young says he is against any form of federal mandate on local law enforcement departments, “I’m not one who wants to start mandating from the federal government what our local law enforcement uses. What kind of guns, cameras they use, whatever. I don’t want to federalize our local police force.”
