Thursday, March 5th
Deputies and the K-9 Leo assisted a Jefferson Police officer with a traffic stop and search of a pickup truck in the 200 block of West Vest Street in Jefferson.
A deputy was asked to try and locate an elderly male driver that was reported to be intoxicated near the Sparky’s One Stop in Churdan.
A deputy was dispatched to the 1900 block of D Avenue to help mediate a civil personal property issue between family members.
The animal control officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of East Hager Street in Grand Junction for the report of an opossum near the residence.
A deputy assisted Jefferson Police Officers with trying to locate a stolen black 2013 crew cab pickup taken from a residence in Jefferson.
Friday, March 6th
A deputy, while assisting the Jefferson Police Department, located the black 2013 crew cab truck that was reported stolen in the late hours of Thursday. A five minute pursuit ensued with the vehicle jumping the curb and striking a fire hydrant and then a tree near the intersection of Cedar and McKinley Streets. The deputy and police officers subsequently arrested Andrew Lee Jensen 32, of Jefferson for OWI 1st Offense – Serious Misdemeanor, Eluding – D Felony, Driving While Suspended, Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon – C Felony, Theft 1st Degree – C Felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth)3rd Offense – D Felony.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
